Any site funded by advertising has a moral obligation to say so, because an ad next to an article and a sponsored article are not the same thing. This page explains where the money comes from and, above all, what is not done with it.
This site is funded exclusively by the advertising Google AdSense displays. Google pays per ad impression and per click. There is no other source, and it is better to say so than disguise it: without advertising this site would not exist.
The arithmetic is simple. The site publishes around fifty articles in two languages, four calculators, a maintained pricing table and a glossary. That volume does not live off visits alone, but off someone arriving from a specific search finding a useful answer and reading on.
| Item | We pay | We do not pay |
|---|---|---|
| Ads shown on pages | Yes | |
| Clicks on an ad | Yes | |
| Publishing a favourable article about an AI tool | Never | |
| Pulling back or softening criticism of an advertiser | Never | |
| Placing an affiliate link | Never | |
| A provider reviewing text before publication | Never |
The practical consequence is this: if there is a generative AI advertiser on a page and next to it we write that the same tool fails to comply with the EU AI Act, both things appear on the same screen. Advertising does not buy editorial judgement, and that is exactly why a site that takes money for reviews cannot give you a useful opinion on a product: it is giving you the opinion of whoever paid it.
Ads are shown through AdSense and, if you allow it, can be selected based on your browsing across Google sites and apps. That means the ads you see depend not only on this page's content but also on what you have seen elsewhere.
Advertising can be limited in two ways, and neither costs anything:
We do not selectively block ads or force you to see them to read. Everything —articles, calculators, pricing and glossary — is accessible without seeing a single ad.
With unpaid work and advertising. Hosting is free, the content is written and maintained by one person with no external funding, and pricing data is checked against each provider's documentation. There are no investors, no outside funding and no company behind it that can decide what gets published or withdrawn.
The advantage of this structure is that the only possible criterion is the technical one and usefulness. The disadvantage is that nobody backs the site if something goes wrong, and that publishing pace depends on one person. We would rather you knew.
